Too many times in too many places, the locals don't tell the tourists
all the good stuff. So after much soul searching - five minutes worth maybe - we've decided to
reveal it all here. Depending on who you are and where you came from,
you might find some of these local Amelia Island secrets useful.
Sure, when the kids want to go fishing, you can load them in the rental
car and take them to the marina for a fun day of charter fishing. But
we aren't sure most people want to spend $800 to take to kids fishing,
and we know some great spots the kids will enjoy fishing without busting the
family budget. Call it the Amelia Island Online Charter Fishing Cruise -
no boat required, but fun will be had by all.
Everybody likes to shop until they drop. Must get some good beach stuff
when you're at the beach, right? Well sure you do. But again, we're
confused - we aren't sure everybody is going to want a Rolex watch to
take home to each of their friends - or a $49 T-shirt with a nice embroidered
logo - so we'll try and give you some local info on where the bargains are hiding.
Sure, you can find very fancy, very elegant, very expensive,
very tasty fine dining at many locations on the island. But we aren't sure
that is what most people who come here for vacation want to eat every night
while they're here - and we aren't sure that the concierge at the hotel
or the front desk clerk at the bed and breakfast knows where to get the
best subs, BBQ, pizza, and Chinese carry out. And if they do know, we
aren't really sure if they are supposed to tell. So we figured that we
should.
We'll constantly be adding to this section of the web site as we find more
fun things to do and neat places to go, so check back now and then to see
if you can find any more good Amelia Island insider info. Have Fun! And don't forget
the sun block - nobody likes bright red tourists.
